Top Guides LTD is an adventure travel company run by 2 UIMLA-certified mountain guides: Dimiter and Alexander. Nowadays the company is growing sustainably and is among the leading outdoor tour operators in the country. We are specialized in authentic active tours: guided, self-guided or tailor-made, up to your choice! We also operate a wide-range of outdoor activities: hiking, trekking, rock climbing and mountain biking in summer; snowshoeing, ice climbing, ski touring and off-piste skiing during winter. We can guide you in the mountains of Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Turkey and Georgia. All of our 15 guides are certified and experienced and would love to show you the wild beauty of the Bulgarian and the Balkan mountains with a smile, passion and knowledge!
The Mission
We focus on small-group and tailor-made tours because we believe in the importance of sustainable travel. That is why we work towards improving the mountaineering culture and the knowledge of our mountains’ visitors by providing information and articles about the Bulgarian nature, biodiversity and mountains. And last but not least, we aim to promote and strengthen the position of the mountain guides; to ease the communication between clients and mountain guides, as well as to sustain and improve the professional qualifications of our guides, by organizing a variety of seminars, training and practices. We have incorporated a few green practices during our trips: no plastic bags or plastic cutlery during picnics; no plastic water bottles during meals, we encourage our clients to bring their own sleeping bags instead of using sheets in the high mountain huts where water and electric supply are scarce. We try to raise the awareness of our clients about the local environmental and ecological issues that we face during organizing our tours or that are general for the region.

Dimiter Samounev is a co-founder of Top Guides Ltd. He has more than 14 years of experience as a UIMLA certified mountain guide in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, working with Bulgarians and travellers from all around the world with different interests: hiking, wildlife, culture, history. His focus is on custom-made itineraries and tailored requests. His core skills are itinerary planning, process optimization, working with partners, all kind of analytics, accountancy. Alexander Serafimov is a co-founder of Top Guides Ltd. He has more than 12 years of experience as a UIMLA certified mountain guide in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo, Georgia. He is also founder of the Travellers Club Bulgaria and “Klub Sledi” Ski Touring Club. In Top Guides he is responsible for the Spanish version of the website and all contacts with Spanish-speaking partners and clients. His core skills are project managing, process optimization, finances. He enjoys finding the best and most effective solutions for cooperation and business managing. More about Alex.
